Story #2: Laurie and Her Cats

I have more than one of them, and they seem to have just accumulated over time.

All the deaths of the poor defenseless animals, all because of carelessness, are shameful. It is shameful that big organizations cannot keep it real and together, and show some decency and integrity.

I watch very carefully what I purchase. I have suffered a few losses in the last couple of weeks, I have had to bury a few beloved kittens, I am not sure how or why they passed, but it still is disheartening, and my sorrow goes out to the families that have loved and lost their pets.

A lot of people who do not understand what it is to have an animal give you unconditional love, to have them look to you for care, to look up to you, with their eyes. I don't know about you, but it melts my heart, and I would just about give anything for them, to care for them. Now thats what you call a true animal caregiver and someone who loves animals, sometimes better than humans themselves!!

Story #1: Claudia and Kaleb

This is "Kaleb" and he is my valued Service Dog, for I am disabled. After hearing of the recall of contaminated dog food I feared for my dog's life. Not only is he valuable to me as a Service Dog but he is my constant companion and my beloved friend.

I immediately began looking up online about how to make my own dog food for him and now he eats organic, whole foods only. He has since put on (much needed) weight and his fur is healthier and shiny and his stool is more consistent, even though I vary in what I put in each meal.

Now, I only worry about the "Dog Treats" that he loves. Do we have to worry about those too? Being disabled it is hard enough for me to feed myself and I cook the homemade dog food at a price of increased pain that I suffer from using my arms. But I will not stop doing this for him for fear of the contamination of regular dog food. I just do not want to worry, or to stop giving him his treats (his rewards) for being my helper.
